ENGINEERED DRYING
Once the removal of water, contaminants and water-damaged items is complete, equipped with the knowledge, large quantities of specialty equipment and various techniques we begin the drying process.
For drying water damage there are different techniques available. Which one to choose depends on the severity of the water damage as well as the type of material. When choosing the right drying technique, we always consider the drying time and costs so that every case of water damage can be dried out as quickly and efficiently as possible.
STEPS TO WATER DAMAGE
Initial Response
Securing the safety of all occupants, locating the source and determining the extent of the damage.
Extraction
Removing and freestanding or trapped water using specialized pumps and vacuums to prevent the irreversible deterioration of building materials and the growth of mould and other harmful bacteria.
Drying and dehumidification equipment Setup
Once the removal of water, contaminants and water-damaged items are complete, installation of specialty equipment and various engineered drying methods can begin. Using moisture meters and thermal imaging cameras we monitor the drying process and ensure that no moisture goes undetected. This equipment remains in place until the area has been dried/dehumidified to industry standards, verified through daily moisture and humidity readings.
Disinfection and Cleaning
Affected areas, objects and the air are thoroughly cleaned and treated with anti-microbial treatments and air purification treatments.
Reconstruction
Post-disaster repairs – Affected structural elements and interior finishings including building envelope, framing, drywall, painting, flooring, and any other repairs needed is conducted.
FIRE DAMAGE

Dehumidification
Dehumidification of new construction assists in supporting the aggressive schedules of builders and developers by shortening dry times of interior finish materials such as drywall mud, paint, concrete and levelling compound, etc. Dehumidification also creates favorable humidity condition for preservation flooring, mill-work, paint from mould. If this step is skipped the effects of moisture inside a building under construction can create serious bottlenecks in the construction process and become a serious danger to future occupants.

Contruction Dehumidification

MOULD, ASBESTOS & INFECTION CONTROL
F1 City Restoration has a multidisciplinary approach to indoor environmental remediation. The traumatic experience of water damage or fire coupled with a potential discovery or suspicion of hazardous materials inside a property raises many short and long term concerns.
F1 specializes in post-event remediation services and takes a scientific approach to proper detection and remediation of environmental hazards and bio-organic matter hazards.
We investigate and resolve indoor air quality concerns and environmental hazards, ensuring problems are remedied quickly and effectively. Our primary concern is always the safety and health of the occupants and structure. For that reason cleanup, removal and authorized disposal of contaminated materials be done right and by trained professionals.
MOULD REMEDIATION
The presence of Mould in an indoor environment can only indicate one thing, that water has found its way to building materials as a result of flooding, leaky roofs, sewer backflows or plumbing leaks etc..
Mould can begin to grow within 12-24 hours and become visible within 72 hours. Once Mould is observed the top priority is to remove the affected objects or materials and safely dispose of them.
Due to both occupant health and structural damage risks, Mould issues need to be dealt with quickly, with specialized equipment and knowledgeable professionals.

TRAUMA & BIOHAZARD CLEANUP
F1 City Restoration specializes in the cleanup and disinfection process that thoroughly eliminates all potentially harmful biohazards and pathogens from areas affected by blood, vomit, feces, urine, drug paraphernalia, and other potentially infectious materials to ensure your property is returned to a safe, livable condition.
Cleaning up Biohazard or Trauma scenes is a service that requires industry expertise, specialized equipment, and appropriate certifications. Improper cleanup can raise health and safety risks, and cause further damage.
Our cleanup protocols follow Bloodborne Pathogen Standards, which include practicing universal precautions and equipping our teams with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). We also provide our customers with PPE if they need to access affected areas. Our goal is minimize exposure risk for all parties involved
STEPS TO BIOHAZARD CLEANUP
1. ASSES – We complete an initial walk-through and completean employee-safety hazard assessment of the scene.
2. CONTROL AND SETUP – We use ALL recommended cross-contamination protocol to control the affected area by securing and separating it from other parts of the structure.
3. REMOVE – We remove all visible traces of blood and biological materials from the affected area. This is the most dangerous step of the remediation process.
4. CLEAN, DISINFECT, AND DEODORIZE – After removal, we clean, disinfect, and deodorize affected surfaces using disinfectants.
5. VERIFY – Upon completion, we use adenosine triphosphate (ATP) testing technology to guarantee hospital-level standards of disinfection.
RECONSTRUCTION & REBUILD
Upon completion of any type Emergency mitigation or remediation, F1 City Restoration is there to inspect, evaluate and quantify the resulting damages, producing precise specifications, estimates and costs pertaining to residential and commercial post-disaster repairs.
